How to get help with your AGTEK takeoff when you can’t ask your coworkers

Many AGTEK customers have been with us since we invented digital earthwork takeoff in the ‘80s and have seasoned AGTEK vets ready to help those just learning the software. But today, many of our customers are working from their home offices making it impossible to lean over to a coworker to ask a quick question.

Do you know how to do a dirt takeoff, but want to learn how to add your materials? Are you building and exporting your first GPS model? Or are you brand-new to earthwork estimating and ready to start your first project in AGTEK?

We are ready to help. We have an immense library of knowledge collected on our website and built into our software, plus a team of industry experts working in technical support ready to answer questions by phone or email.

How to Get Help with AGTEK

1. Your company has AGTEK software, but you’ve never used it and you’re ready to learn.

AGTEK Basic Training

We have a series of training videos made just for you! The videos are broken down into short, digestible segments and provide the job files the trainer uses so that you can work along with the video. The course will walk you through starting from both PDF and CAD files.

2. It’s been awhile since you’ve checked in with AGTEK – what’s new?

Webinars

The best way to stay up to date with AGTEK is to tune-in for our monthly webinars. The webinars provide industry insights collected from the major dirt movers and model builders across the country and show you all about our latest releases.

Our recent webinars have highlighted new solutions for efficiently calculating material takeoff quantities and underground pipe by phase or class.

Would you like to speed up your materials takeoffs? Check out our method in this half-hour webinar and see if it could help you – Materials First.

3. You forgot how to do something in AGTEK that you know you’ve done before.

The Help Manual

Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. When you’re working in the software and realize you need a quick refresher, the easiest thing for you to do is a simple search in the Help manual.

For example, if you want to add a point on a line, but don’t remember the quick way your trainer showed you, you can run a search and get clear directions on how to use the F6 hotkey.

The Help manual also provides direct links to relevant training videos. Our training team has created a huge library of videos on every AGTEK program – software and mobile apps. You can find them all here or you can use the Help manual to quickly search and find the video you need.

For example, if you are working on creating a template you can search for “template” and get both written instructions and links to the videos for basic template entry, templates for trenches, templates for overexcavation, and templates for subgrade.

4. You’ve used AGTEK for years, but need help with a new feature or module

When we release new features or modules, we always create a short video highlighting the new functionality with a quick demonstration. The videos are broken down by module and available on the training video page of the website. Be sure to check out all of the videos for our new integrated Underground and Materials modules.
